Barcode Readers
Barcode readers are complex device that that have the ability to scan a
barcode and interpret its code. The amount of information, which is
coded into those few lines, is amazing.
At first, the barcode resembles little black lines. Each of the lines or
bars and varying width represents numbers. In fact, several different
codes can be used. The UPC code is probably the most recognized as it is
seen on most items found in the local supermarket. Its also the oldest
form.
Bar code readers or scanners use a laser to read the numerous black bars
black bars then interprets and send the information to a decoder, which
translate the complex serious of numbers into words.
The decoder translates the code and into data, the computer understands.
This data can be anything about the product being purchased such as the
price, inventory, and tracking information.
